Keine Frage: Wer sich mit dem Thema nicht auskennt, sollte ausdrücklich die Finger von dem Motor, der Elektrik oder sonstigen in Sachen Fahrtüchtigkeit und vor allem auch Sicherheit relevanten Bauteilen lassen. Schäden wie kleinere Dellen in der Karosserie eines Autos können allerdings durchaus unter Zuhilfenahme einfacher Haushaltsmittel effektiv und vor allem auch kostengünstig behoben werden, ohne man dazu professionelle Hilfe in Anspruch nehmen muss.

Während in einer Werkstatt nämlich gerne mal bis zu 80 Euro für das Ausbeulen kleinerer Dellen fällig werden – zumindest wenn man Glück hat, und nicht direkt ausgetauscht wird –, hat wohl jeder einen Wasserkocher oder Topf, Wasser und einen Pümpel daheim. Und selbst wenn der Versuch nach der nun folgenden Anleitung am Ende nicht klappen sollte, etwa weil der Schaden dann doch zu groß oder das Material zu störrisch war, hat mal letztlich lediglich etwas Zeit verloren.

Für die Do-it-Yourself-Ausbeulung müsst ihr zunächst Wasser in einem Topf oder mit einem Wasserkocher erhitzen. Gießt dann das kochende Wasser großflächig über die beschädigte Stelle am Auto. Die Hitze macht Lack und Blech flexibel und setzt die Delle gleichzeitig unter Spannung, so dass es durchaus sein kann, dass das Blech schon jetzt selbstständig in seine ursprüngliche Form zurückkehrt. Diese Methode kann übrigens auch bei Kunststoffteilen, wie Stoßfängern, angewendet werden.

Sollte das heiße Wasser allein nicht ausreichen, schnappt man sich im nächsten Schritt einen Pümpel, platziert den Saugnapf mittig auf der Delle und drückt ihn fest an. Versucht nun, die Delle durch einen vorsichtigen Zug am Pümpel herauszuziehen. Für kleinere Dellen sollten entsprechend kleinere Saugnäpfe verwendet werden. Gegebenenfalls ist dabei auch eine weitere Person hilfreich, die von innen gegen das Blech drückt, um die Reparatur zu unterstützen, wie das folgende Video anschaulich demonstriert.
